Hi All,
I'm debugging an application on an Intel MacBook, compiled with gcc
4.0.1 under XCode. The application runs fine under MallocDebug right
up until near the end of its loop. At that point, I see this in the
logs:
libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: strange -- malloc_size returned
10768916libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: If you run under the debugger,
it will automatically break here.
libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: strange -- malloc_size returned
10768916libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: If you run under the debugger,
it will automatically break here.
libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: strange -- malloc_size returned
10768916libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: If you run under the debugger,
it will automatically break here.
libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: strange -- malloc_size returned
10768916libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: If you run under the debugger,
it will automatically break here.
Shortly after this, I ran the leak analyzer. At that point, my
application logged the following:
libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: Stack start is b009a000
libMallocDebug[NSDSplit-3401]: Stack size is 00080000
The MallocDebug window then became unresponsive. The console log has:
2007-05-17 15:36:57.529 MallocDebug[3395] getUnreferencedData error
2007-05-17 15:41:57.901 MallocDebug[3395] libMallocDebug getStacks:
error
The odd thing is that the process stopped logging, but Activity
Monitor reports it as still running, using 101.3 percent of CPU and
527MB of real memory. Did MallocDebug freeze the process and then
crash, leaving it running? I mostly just want to make sure that
there is not a problem with my code that caused the whole thing to
crash. When I run the code without MallocDebug, there are no
apparent problems or memory leaks.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best,
David
