I’ve been using shift-tab for Select Next Placeholder. (The default mapping is not usable on my keyboard layout.) However, this doesn’t work in Xcode 3; if I map the menu item to shift-tab, the right glyphs are shown in the menu but the keystroke does nothing. I’m guessing implementation changes are leading to this keystroke being swallowed by the responder chain mechanism and I should file a bug, but is there a workaround or some silliness like the return key issue?

Please file a Radar report.  The rewrite of Code Completion and Syntax-Aware Indenting lean heavily on the use of the Tab key and may preempt its ability to be remapped.  It would also help to know what keyboard layout you are using.
