triggering Xcode 3.0's diff viewer to diff arbitrary files

Hi,

since Xcode 3.0 now has such a wonderful file diff view for comparing file revisions, is there also a way to trigger this view for arbitrary file diffs?

Basically, I'd like to have some way to open diffs in Xcode instead of e.g. using the opendiff tool to open them in FileMerge, because I like the Xcode diff view better than FileMerge.

Is there a way to trigger this through either an external tool or via AppleScript?
All I found so far is "SCM compare" in Xcode's AppleScript dictionary, but I couldn't get it to work with non-project files.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks,
</jum>
