Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I have been using Xcode 3 for
a while now in the pre-releases, and it has been working quite nicely
for me. Apparently, some things in our setup must differ.
And I must counter your rant. You want relieable tools? vim, gcc and
xcodebuild are right there at your disposal. Extremely reliable, I use
them a lot
I love Xcode 3, I love the new features, big and small, and I think
the Xcode team really listened.
Thanks to the Xcode team though for providing Xcode 2.5. At least
this time I won't be stuck on the old version of OS X while I wait
for a useable version of Xcode 3.0.
This is were they really, really listened: So leave it to people like
me to use Xcode some more -- and I file bugs on every issue I find in
it -- before it gets really stable.
Until then, you can eat the cake (use Leopard) and have it, too (Still
use Xcode 2)
Again, sorry to hear that some people have trouble, I find Xcode 3 to
be absolutely suited for production work in our environment.
Alex
