vadd(&data1,1,&data2,1,&result,1,1);

What if you try the following? (how the API is documented)

vDSP_vadd(&data1,1,&data2,1,&result,1,1);

This worked - thanks. At the time this older code was written, the API may have been documented differently.


You appear to be using vadd directly which appears to not exist for
ppc64 or x86_64 (see vDSP_translate.h and the fact that that header is
only included for i386 and ppc).

Adding the vDSP_ prefix to all affected methods allowed the code to compile and run as 64b with no problems.
