Sorry to have spoken unclear, but I was talking about the feature
"weak linking" here. A feature made with backwards compatibility in
mind.
I don't really know what you mean by "allow for 10.2,"
Obviously. "Allow for 10.2" means: Use the 10.2.8 SDK and avoid
prohibitions to not run in this environment.
but any definition that doesn't involve testing in and supporting
10.2 seems inconsistent with professional development practices.
Based on experience, "professional development practices" have
limitations. The best pieces of software I use are tagged "provided
as is", feature a good bug fixing culture and allow environments the
developers don't test on.
