GC and backward compatibility?
GC and backward compatibility?

Now that we can talk about Xcode 3, I have a question that's been
burning me up for a while now.
Let's say I make a framework that uses the usual retain/release
mechanisms, but I want to use GC anyway. So I turn on GC support, but
do not turn on the "GC required" option.
What effect does this have on the framework's backward compatibility?
Will the framework still be loadable in applications running under
Tiger? Panther? Earlier?
Now what if the application uses GC? What then?
