Globals Viewer question

Hi Everyone,
I wonder if anyone can help me. Relative novice to Xcode. Have just upgraded to Leopard and Xcode 3.0. Variables that I used to see in the debugger have disappeared. In the globals viewer, cannot find them, whereas used to be there before. Have followed the thread about viewing shared libraries, but I still cannot make my external variables appear. Could anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.
