Can I tweak an old project to work better with Xcode 3?

I have a two + year old project. After switching to Leopard/Xcode 3, it seems the tools in the window are not as a new project (all-in-one mode):

1) the segment control on the left has 3 buttons with Build in the middle.

2) in the build results view, there is what I imagine is a segment control with one segment called Build.

If I create a new project I get a two segment control and a bunch of segments in the build results pane.

David
