Research Assistant & Documentation Window Not Working

I wonder if anyone has had this experience:
Suddenly this morning I am unable to use Research Assistant or the
Documentation window. When I select a symbol name in XCode's editor, NOTHING
happens in the RA window. Nor can I use the Search box in the documentation
window... typing something into the box and hitting return gets either no
results or completely bogus results.
Last night all this was working fine; I haven't downloaded any new docsets or
installed anything in the overnight interval; it just stopped working. I've
tried rebuilding the project index and restarting the computer (a MacBook Pro)
to no avail.
Any thoughts??
