Perforce and alt roots problems

  • Subject: Perforce and alt roots problems

Hi. I've got an xcode project living on an NFS-mounted file system served up from a linux box.

I have a Perforce client spec for that machine, and it is set up with a root and alt root like this:

/Volumes/server/depot
/home/rmann/depot

/home/rmann on the server mounts as /Volumes/server on my Mac.

I have the depot set up in Xcode's SCM, and I can browse it just fine using the SCM -> Repositories UI. Xcode is set up using the same user and client spec as the server.

If I use the p4 command line tool, both on the server and on the Mac, things work just fine. But I can't, for example, open a file for edit from within Xcode, and I don't see any error messages when I try. It just seems to do nothing.

Any suggestions?

TIA,
--
Rick
