I'm having a newbie-ish problem that is increasingly annoying as I
can't find any solution let alone an explanation.
I'm on Xcode 3 and 10.5.2, developing Cocoa (simple document based
apps) and most of the time the debugger won't stop at breakpoints. I'm
always using the debug build so I'm not sure what else I need to do.
The funny thing is I have this with all projects I've been playing
with. The symptoms as as follows:
I set a breakpoint at a line and start the debugger (Command-Y). If
I'm lucky the breakpoint color won't change and stays dark-blue. If
I'm not, it changes to orange with a blue border, which means it won't
stop - probably because the debugger can't find code for it.
Once this behavior has started for a project it's difficult to get rid
of again. Sometimes a clean all/build all fixes it (with removing and
resetting breakpoints). Sometimes starting in non-debug mode and
switching to it by setting a breakpoint during the run will make it
break at the breakpoint but most of the time nothing helps.
I'm now at a stage where not even restarting Xcode helps, so I'm
desperate. Developing without a debugger is not and option. It must be
a simple mistake but which?
Thanks for pointers!
Regards
Markus
