gcc 4.2 not the default?
gcc 4.2 not the default?

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but I was wondering why the
default gcc version in Xcode 3.1 is 4.0 (and not 4.2). Our products
are highly CPU intensive, so we're always interested in better code
generation but the fact that 4.2 isn't the default makes me nervous.
Is there some implied liability that I'm not picking up on? Perhaps
some gcc gurus here can offer some insight or advice here... Thanks
in advance.
Andy
