(I'm not an expert, but) the Never/Never setting would not open the
window when errors or warnings were generated which I believe you said
your problem was. It also would not close the window either.
The On Errors/On Success setting opens on errors, but not warnings,
and then closes it if neither errors nor warnings are generated.
It is just a control of the window opening and closing. But it works
well for me.

Open during builds: On Errors
Close after builds: On Success
