Right you are, sir.

Thank you very much.

I am experiencing what appears to be a problem identical to that of Kevin Kicklighter on Wed, 13 Aug 2008 12:00:07 -0400

The difference, in my case, is that I had been working with XCode 3.1 on my Mac Mini for several weeks before an odd failure in a build caused me to quit and restart XCode. On restart, the problem first occurred and has continued each time the XCode application is launched from the dock or with a double click.

After hiding the prefs to no avail, I restarted, I reinstalled 3.1 with no change. I cleared all caches that I could find associated with XCode. I reinstalled yet again after removing the developer folder, again to no avail.

I have inspected the Platforms directory (only MacOSX is present), the plist does have a valid identifier.

Kevin, did you come to any resolution?

Does anyone else have any suggestions for resolving this?

You have an Info.plist file at the top level of your boot disk. This makes Xcode think that your boot disk is a development platform with an SDK, and it isn't.

Rename or remove that Info.plist file and Xcode (note capitalization) will launch again.

Chris
