AFAICT, this doesn't work the way one expects. I'm sure there's an
explanation, but I'm at a loss for what that might be.
Maybe it's just an issue of "the name of a thing" vs. "the thing". :-}
Currently every time I rename a file, I do it from the Finder,
delete the
old file from the project and add the file with the new name. Of
course your
can also rename both, but in any case it just feels wrong.
The first time I tried this, FWIW, I used a project that is under SCM
(subversion). The rename took place on-disk, right away, and showed
up as a change that needed to be committed to the svn repository (the
original file is scheduled for 'deletion', and a copy of that file,
with the new name, is scheduled to be added).
