Question about the console window

Hi all,
A quick question about the console window and input.
Working in very basic "Standard Tool", why is it that a pasted text like


"int, void, more_stuff"


is not the same as if I had physically typed the actual words.

When I do the former, on hitting "return" the first character I see is '\n', (using something like getchar() )as opposed to 'i' in the latter case.
