Such things as this aggravate the hell out of me and I often spend much time trying to work around them or determine their cause.  Call me OCD.

From the previous post, I took each URL and subscribed to it as a feed within Mail.app and attempted to 'Save Attachment'.  This failed.  I also copied each URL into Safari and attempted to save the file, but it wasn't possible because the page never finished loading.  Of course, I'm assuming that the page itself was waiting on some further information to be supplied; I'm not familiar with RSS protocols.

I invoked the URL listed in the line that begins "*** Starting download..." (see previous post) in Safari and received the same result of the page not loading; again probably due to my inadequate understanding of RSS...

Things got more interesting when I decided to simply change the protocol from https to http.  When using this URL I was prompted for a username and password.  After supplying the ADC username and password that I use, I was able to download "com.apple.adc_reference_library.corereference.xar" .

I checked to make sure that I could download from ADC and was able to successfully download several large seed files.  So there doesn't appear to be an issue with my basic network settings.  I'm going to guess that there is something amiss with the interaction between  ' https://connect.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MemberSite.woa/wa/basicAuthGetSoftware?' and my installation of XCode somehow.  Though, I have removed XCode before using the uninstall-dev script and reinstalled it subsequently from freshly downloaded 3.1.2 images of the iPhone SDK.

Please also understand that I'm still learning XCode and Mac development so I am not readily familiar with all convention concerning the mailing lists.  Nor am I sure how one should go about posting a bug...
