Stale Source Code Displayed

  • Subject: Stale Source Code Displayed

I have a static library project that is composed of a mix of source files that I edit by hand in Xcode and generated source files that get written by a different project.

I have been regenerating the generated sources a lot in the past few days and what I am seeing is that the source code display in Xcode lags behind the real state of the files on disk. This even carries over into the debugger. It eventually seems to get things right, and I have seen the display in an editing window change as I'm looking at the file. From the behavior, it seems as if Xcode is caching the source code somewhere and taking its sweet time updating or flushing the cached copy.

I have tried closing the files and reopening them, etc.

I would like this behavior to change so that I always see whatever is the latest state on disk.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can accomplish this? I'm using Xcode 3.1 and this is a C++ project.

Thanks,
Rush
