Unit Testing: Script Phase executes even when compilation phase errors

I am new to Unit Testing and just getting started with it. I have made a Unit Test target, and an Objective-C test case file. If my tests file encounters compilation phase errors, the script phase still executes, and some unit tests are run (must be the last validly compiled ones). Is this normal? Is there some way I can prevent the tests from running when compilation phase errors manifest?
