XCode 2.5 and 3.1

I have XCode 2.5 and 3.1 installed but until now I was only using 2.5 when building from the command line. I would now like to switch but am unable to find the gcc_select command. Where has it gone and how would I select a specific gcc version. Thank you, Dieter
