Thanks for your help. I never would have thought to run Xcode from Terminal. I did as you asked and redirected standard error to a text file. I suspect the line you need is: 2008-12-30 19:23:15.553 Xcode[324:10b] Unable to find either a loadable database or a Nodes.xml configuration file

If not, the entire file is attached. There was a surprising number of errors.
