Summary unavailble for NSString?

I have a debugger question. I am getting "[summary unavailable]" for all my NSStrings in XCode 3.0. Is there a setting that is casing this? I am a project with 2.5 compatibility turned on since we are still coding to 10.4.11 and need to debug in 10.4.
