Apple initially released documentation for IO80211Controller and IO80211Interface (google cache can be seen at
here and
here). Now these pages do not exist. Does anyone have an explanation why this developer documentation was abruptly removed?
A note to Apple: Please open up your wireless specifications just a little bit. At the very least, I'd like to be able to have a solid monitor mode and a way of writing raw 80211 packets to the card. Doing so would put you at absolutely no competitive disadvantage, and would add new functionality to our computers, all without much effort at all!
