[OT] Time Machine vs 10.5.2

I have just noticed that none of the source files I have been editing in Xcode have been backed up since I installed 10.5.2 on Monday. A quick scan through my backups of last week and before show that things were working OK before the 10.5.2 upgrade.
My System log is full of almost identical entries as this for each backup this week:
Feb 14 16:00:31 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Starting standard backup
Feb 14 16:00:31 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Mounting disk image /Volumes/Time/Baltar_0017f2022828.sparsebundle
Feb 14 16:00:33 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Disk image mounted at: /Volumes/Backup of Baltar
Feb 14 16:00:33 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Backing up to: /Volumes/Backup of Baltar/Backups.backupdb
Feb 14 16:00:33 Baltar com.apple.backupd[25563]: 2008-02-14 16:00:33.980 FindSystemFiles[25575:713] Querying receipt database for system packages
Feb 14 16:00:36 Baltar com.apple.backupd[25563]: 2008-02-14 16:00:36.783 FindSystemFiles[25575:713] Using system path cache.
Feb 14 16:00:37 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: No pre-backup thinning needed: 216.3 MB requested (including padding), 32.07 GB available
Feb 14 16:00:37 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Waiting for index to be ready (906 > 0)
Feb 14 16:00:58 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Copied 5 files (11 bytes) from volume Vger.
Feb 14 16:00:59 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Starting post-backup thinning
Feb 14 16:00:59 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Deleted backup /Volumes/Backup of Baltar/Backups.backupdb/Baltar/ 2008-02-13-151659: 32.07 GB now available
Feb 14 16:00:59 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Post-back up thinning complete: 1 expired backups removed
Feb 14 16:00:59 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Backup completed successfully.
Feb 14 16:01:02 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Ejected Time Machine disk image.
Feb 14 16:01:09 Baltar /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[25563]: Ejected Time Machine network volume.
On further examination, it seems everything has stopped backing up. My devlists mailbox in Mail doesn't show any recent backup either.
What is particularly annoying about this is that I have been lulled into thinking everything is working OK as the new Time machine item in the Menu bar does its regular animation to imply it is backing up.
Has anyone else noticed (or even checked for) a lack of backups, and does anyone have a suggestion how nudge Time machine into working again?
Matt Gough
P.S Please no posts about Time machine not being a replacement for a proper SCM system. I do use one, but it so happens that this week I have been doing a lot of changes that haven't been checked in yet. I was hoping to see how things stood before today's changes, but alas not.
