Thanks, works like a charm!
Do you recommend editing the .pbxuser file directly?

I noticed that when bringing Xcode 2.4.1 projects into version 3.0

25+.
Anyone know of a workaround?
If you're talking about what you set up in your Executable, those
are stored in your <username>.pbxuser file inside the .xcodeproj
wrapper. If you have a different user name on your 3.0 machine you
will get a new and different .pbxuser file.
Just rename the old one. Or better yet, name it "default.pbxuser"
and everybody who opens that project for the first time will get
the executable setup by default.
