In addition to the current explainiations it might be worth to note that for C code there is a convention to write preprocessor stuff (definitions and macros) ALL_CAPS , so when you encounter something in caps it is very likely not a regular function but a (preprocessor expanded) macro.
Of course it's only a convention, and nothing stopped e.g. Apple to ship an header with all-small-written macros somewhere down in their headers - IIRC something pretty common like 'verify' or 'test'.
