Hi,
I can confirm the corruption issues.. I just released a version of my
software with a nib (nib2, not nib3) that didn't work on Tiger but did
work correctly on Leopard. Saving the file as a .xib, opening the .xib
and re-saving it as .nib (nib2 format) fixed the problem instantly.
Just now I'm having to go back to an old version of a nib for another
program because this one causes a random NSInvalidArgumentException!?
Kudos to the XCode and IB teams for making some bold changes to the
development tools; Leopard development is going to be much more fun
that Tiger development. On the other hand, it would be nice to have a
reliable tool set.. I haven't heard anything about XCode 3 and IB 3
being patched any time soon.. will be see a new release soon or will
the bug fixes be delivered by OS X updates!?
Best regards,
Frank

Be careful -- In general, IB3.0 is not near as stable as 2.x was. I've
had several corruptions of NIB files from IB3.0.

Jon,
The project in question has a huge directory of files for an
application I'm
about to port, and it's very likely you put your finger on the
problem; now
I certainly have a plan for attacking it tomorrow.
Thanks!

I will file a bug, but has anyone had problems with frequent IB

IB 3.0 crashes frequently on my Mac Pro under 10.5.1; actually, the
"crash" is an assertion failure alert (sometimes 5 or 6 cascaded).
Assertion Message: Resources must have a value!

Hey Doug -
I believe that this occurs when IB attempts to read the image files
from your project and encounters a file with an extension that makes
it look like an Image when the file really isn't an image. For
example, having an empty file in your project with a .tiff extension
will probably cause this problem.

I've tried deleting preferences and the contents of IB's
Application
Support folder.
I've never seen the problem on my personal MacBook Pro, although I
don't open the same projects there. I've considered a corrupted
NIB
file, but it happens on just-created NIBs, too.
Any advice appreciated, as always.
