Using our outstanding performance tools! I'd suggest you start with
the following:
* A bunch of top reports ("top -i 1 -l 0", Shows overall system load,
including memory pressure)
* A Shark Time Profile report for Everything (Xcode, and over all, CPU
load)
* A Shark Time Profile (All Thread States) report for Xcode (To find
blocked threads)
Note that it's very important to collect these reports, in particular
the Shark reports, *while* you experience your performance problem,
not before or after.
If this doesn't help you figure out why things run so slow on your
machine, grab a:
* System Profile report
...and attach all of it to a new performance bug report with Apple.
Btw. Do you see any warning / error logs in the console?
