Thanks for for the tip, but:
(1) Spin Control measured the delay at 44 seconds....
(2) I think I have SCM off . I've never turned it on and have no repositories, anyway.
BTW The Xcode doc is out-of-date on this and it does not seem to help. It says choose SCM > Off in the menu but I see no such menu.
(3) What I do have is "Configure SCM repositories" which, when chosen, also produces a long delay.
(4) This project includes a 2-year old framework, the DotMac framework 1.2, and this might have something to do with it.
