spontaneous font change?

After starting up my Xcode project this morning, I noticed that the appearance of the text in the .c and .txt files has changed slightly. I checked the Preferences/Fonts & Colors Pane - it still shows everything set to the factory defaults. Very strange - I haven't changed any project settings recently. I prefer the previous text appearance - anyone have an idea what has happened? Thanks!
