Wait for 10.5.2, that will fix it. It will likely be out in a week or
two.
I have this same problem (almost) everytime we buy a new computer. I
messed with trying to force it to work once but decided it was a waste
of time since the updates usually come out within about a week or two
of new machines being released. Often this happens because the new
hardware (for example the MacBook Air) is not 100% compatible with the
current stable kernel but they don't want to release a new kernel that
will leak out possible new hardware so they essentially do a 10.5.1.1
release for the new hardware and then everything gets synced up again
in the next "minor" release.

We just got a new Mac Pro to do some nightly builds and such, but it
seemed a great waste to not use those 8 cores during the day, so I
decided to enable distributed builds (sharing the Pro with distcc).
I have installed xcode and done all the various updates to get the
system current, and enabled distributed builds. However, on my
machine I see the new Mac Pro in red with the status "Incompatible".
We are running the same system (10.5.1, i386) and gcc (4.0.1 -
5465). The difference appears to be build number - my 10.5.1 is 9B18
and the Mac Pro is 9B2117. Does anyone know if it is possible to
force xcode to use this machine anyway? Or perhaps to make our build
numbers match? Or should I just wait until 10.5.2 is out and hope
that fixes things? It seems like the distributed build system is
being a little overly-cautious in this case.
