The "breaking in the future" part is of course inherent in all hack
style projects, and that is understood, but thanks again for the
warning.
OTOH, we do have the determination ... in fact it's already running
to a reasonable degree, i.e. we can Add, Edit, Update and Submit
from Xcode to MS Visual SourceSafe and get the correct status in
the SCM pane. Actually it was easier than we thought.
I'm sure we'll run into the finer points of the interaction over time
though, but it's a good start so far. An official API would still be
*highly appreciated*, but so far I think what the Xcode SCM does with
the perforce binary is pretty straightforward (we're still on Xcode
2.5 ... hopefully by the time we upgrade, there will be an official
way to do this).
