GuardMalloc not working

Hello,

In a project I try to run with GuardMalloc. I check the menu item, but wen I choose "Run" the item is no longer checked. Judging by the speed GuardMalloc is not active. What am I doing wrong? Xcode 3.0, Mac OS X 5.4, Carbon application project.
