Those files are custom icons for their enclosing folders, so Finder shows them as custom icons rather than as files.


There may be other things in that file, too.

Make sure you don't want custom icons or folder actions before doing a recursive delete. And if you're not sure, back it up first.

If you find yourself repeating the icon-removal often, but on different sub-trees, put the shell script into an Automator action so you can just drop folders on it from Finder.
