Do you have SCM enabled for your project?

Yes. Typing "Applic" finds "Application.h.svn-base" in .svn.

And per j o a r's question, the root is <Project File Directory> and $ (SRCROOT) occurs only as part of, not all of, a header search path. And removing these breaks the build.
