Likely, it means that the targets don't have a "Copy Resource" build phase (so Xcode does not know what adding the nib file to the target might mean).

Xcode 3.0. Project has three targets:
Main application (a Cocoa app)
Helper application (a Cocoa background app)

1. Drag a directory of Resources into the Project. I wish to add a .nib file in this directory to the Main application. I Set Active Target to the Main app/target. While dragging in the folder, when asked what target to add it to, I check the Main app/target.
(What does it mean to add a directory to a target? Add all of its contents?)
Apparently not, because when I expand the just-added directory, none of the contents are checked in the Target Membership column. As a matter of fact, there aren't even any checkboxes!
2. Select the nib file that I want to add to the Main app/target, open Inspector, click Targets tab, and see that the checkbox for the Main app/target and the Tool/target are disabled. The checkbox for the Helper app/target is enabled, but I don't want to add it to that.

What could be causing this disability? I tried closing/re-opening the project, same problem.
