XCode 3 XIBs not compiling

Perhaps I missed it but I have added a MainWindow.xib to my project. I thought that XCode was supposed to automatically compile these XIB's when they were added. My project, however, is not doing that. I do notice that when I create a project from the template and it includes MainWindow.xib, the XIB is compiled. Is there a way to add the compiling to the build phase?
