I'm writing some documentation of Xcode 3.
In the Build tab of the Project or Target Info window, at the bottom-
left, is a button for summoning the Research Assistant. It looks
like a stack of books, and until it was pointed out to me, I hadn't
noticed that there was a pair of spectacles stacked atop them.
Anyway, it would be very helpful if I could include that button's
graphic in-line with my text, rather than just directing my reader
to the "stack-of-books button at the lower left." I'd prefer not to
use an image of the button itself, as a gradient background doesn't
look good in body text.
Can anyone point me to a good source for it?
Hey Fritz,
I'm not sure if obtaining the file from Xcode's application bundle is
appropriate for your usage, but Xcode seems to keep much of its code
and other resources out of the main bundle, split out into private
frameworks. You can find some of the interface's image resources in
the following folder:
"/Developer/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DevToolsInterface.framework/
Versions/A/Resources/"
Look for researchassistant.icns and researchassistantGlyph-16.tiff.
I'm guessing the documentation is for Xcode 3 Unleashed, so best of
luck with the book :)
Take care,
Sean.
