Is anyone else having problems getting the iPhone simulator that comes with Xcode 3.1 to work? I installed everything yesterday and created a sample iPhone project, just like they showed in the intro videos, but when I hit 'Build and Go' the app builds, but I just see '
'Debugging of "Sample" ended normally' in Xcode's status bar. If I look at Xcode's console, I see this
[Session started at 2008-03-07 16:42:09 -0500.]
2008-03-07 16:42:10.772 Sample[1326:10b] Warning: CFFIXED_USER_HOME is not set!
2008-03-07 16:42:10.793 Sample[1326:10b] Warning: ASPEN_SIMULATOR_ROOT is not set!
Terminating since there is no system event server.
(Run the EventPump or pass the argument "-RegisterForSystemEvents" if you want to run without SpringBoard.
The Debugger has exited with status 0.
I have been talking to Apple, but so far it still doesn't work. I ran the uninstaller in /Developer/Library and then reinstalled the SDK, but no go. I did create a new account on the box (Mac Pro, 10.5.2) and tried it from that account, and it DID work. So that means something, somewhere, in my user account is causing the problem. I deleted anything that had Xcode in its name from ~/Library, but still no joy. Can anyone thing of anything in a user account that would interfere with Xcode or the simulator?
I am hopeful that my contact at Apple will come through with a working suggestion, but I wanted to cast a wide net to get this solved. It's killing me that I can't build anything yet... :-(
Thanks for any suggestions,
Joey
