Xcode 3.0 crashes and 32-bit mode

I recently upgraded to Xcode 3.0, but it crashes on startup regularly if it's set up to start in 32-bit mode. If I uncheck it 32-bit mode box, it runs fine. Is there something I'm missing here? I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.2 on a MacBook.

Thanks,
Trey Campbell
