"Debug / Run Executable" does nothing!

Xcode 2.41

I've got a small Cocoa project that builds a Universal Binary application. After building and debugging successfully several times, it no longer launches the executable when I debug it or run it via "Debug Executable" or "Run Executable". The console reads, "[Session started at 2008-03-25 10:35:50 -0700.]" but nothing else.

There are no messages in Console or System logs.

This happened once before w/ the same project, and the only solution I have found so far was to re-create the project file, pull all the source files back in etc. But like I said, it only lasted a couple of days before this new project also failed.

I've tried the following with no success:

Clean All and Rebuild
Delete build folder. Clean All. Rebuild.
Clean All. Delete the project bundle. Empty trash. Delete build folder. Pull from revision control. Rebuild. (At this point you would figure it would work! But it doesn't! My only conclusion is that Xcode is caching a bunch of [errant] project specific state in a location other than the project tree... hmmm)

The onset seemed to happen when I renamed a group folder in the project, but this is weakly correlated at best.

A very interesting clue is in the Executables Info->General tab the standard input/output popup has only one item in it: "No Value". And in the Debugging tab, the two popups at the top have only one item each: "When using [-1] Use [No Value] for standard input/output". Normally the std i/o popup has 3 items -- pseudo terminal, pipe, and system console.

Thanks in advance for any remedies or insights or what not!

Joe K.
