IB can't save NIB file

  • Subject: IB can't save NIB file

I am using IB/Xcode3 to edit a 2.x format NIB file linked to an Xcode project which is also 2.x format.

After a while, IB refuses to remove the dirty bit on the NIB document after saving. As a result, when building Xcode pauses, waiting for IB to save. This takes between 5-10 seconds to apparently time-out before Xcode gives up and proceeds with compilation.

IB does seem to be saving the changes as the build product reflects the changes to the NIB file.

The only resolution is to close the NIB file and restart IB. However this isn't a particularly effective workaround as IB can immediately exhibit the same behavior.

Is this a common issue? Does Apple know about this already? Is this fixed in the 3.1 beta?

Cheers for any info on this...

Simon Wilson
