On the sample code page there is a section about porting with links
in it to sub-topics including User Experience and Porting from
Windows.
One thing I would find very useful is samples of converting
Microsoft Resource (.RC) files to .nib (or .xib). This is the
really difficult problem of converting software to Mac OS-X from
Windows. Code is much more straightforward because of commonality
of programming languages.
After developing a system with many pages (and form layouts) on
Windows it would save an immense amount of effort to either have
Interface Builder read these files, even with a rough conversion,
or at least give some comparison of the various widgets on Windows
to corresponding ones with an Apple.
Good luck. Apple hasn't even done this for Carbon developers moving
to Cocoa.
Yes, Apple User Experience guidelines are not the same as Windows,
but converting an app should not mean starting the design process
from scratch.
You would think.
