So certainly not a "war" but definitely a clash of file naming
cultures, not the first seen in history! ;-)
Since Apple is free to make custom tweaks to GNU tools, to modify the
command line rules, this could be one solution. But I'd imagine you
folks try to keep the source as un-customized as possible. Which
kinda punts it back to the Xcode team.
Just documenting these quirks would buy a lot of mileage!
