Because cleaning one at a time is too cumbersome if there are more
than 2-3 targets in a project.
I guess my question is not too clear. Sorry about that. Let me ask
another way.
What is the reason one choose to do this? Or, perhaps, what is the
downside of NOT "Cleaning all targets"?
This is mostly for convience and providing a simple way to
completely clean a project. Consider the case where you have a set
of plugins used by an application that use a common framework. The
"clean all" menu item is very useful.
That said, this menu item is no different than cleaning an aggregate
target that has all the other targets in it.
The concern (in either situation) is that if you don't clean
everything, that something bad will be left behind in the build
products and intermediates that could cause problems.
