So then, it sounds like whatever method you used to send it to your friends
did not preserve the execute permission from the actual executable
(YourApp.app/Contents/MacOS/YourApp). Unfortunately, this is rather common,
and your best bet is to zip the app first. If you zip it, then however you
choose to send it, including email, it will be intact after your friends
unzip it on their systems--all permissions intact.
Disk images (dmg) also work well, but would be overkill for a simple
self-contained app you're sending to your friends.
