Any decent & up-to-date Xcode books out there these days? I'm looking for
something particularly appropriate for new hires more than for myself.

I've started looking at Xcode 3 Unleashed. I have it as a pre-pub on Safari. It looks good, so far, but I haven't gotten far enough to make a solid judgment.

It really depends on what you want your new hires to learn. If they need to get up to speed on Objective-C, Cocoa, and Xcode, then the two books that I've recommended on Cocoa-dev would be good enough to get them started.

If they just need to get up to speed on Xcode, then the Apple documents and some simple examples should be enough.

Cheers,
Jason
