I understand the distinction between position-dependent and
position-independent code. My head was spinning from trying to understand
how the options are set in Xcode, and the recommended settings for Cocoa
projects and libraries.
In both Xcode 2.5 and 3.0, I see a checkbox option "Generate
Position-Dependent Code" (and not "Generate Position-Independent Code" as
mentioned in an earlier message). For my app's target, the "Generate
Position-Dependent Code" option is checked in the Release configuration and
unchecked in the Debug configuration. I was only seeking confirmation that
these were the correct settings.
