Ouch, right you are! Don't know how I could have missed that feature.
But seriously... is full stop character really the best indicator of a
space? Any clue on why the interpunct [1] character is not used
instead?
And what about control characters? A simple Google search [2] doesn't
reveal anything about what they do. Like a previous poster [3], I fuck
up my source files every now and then thanks to my Swedish keyboard
layout. Seems others [4] have the same problem as well.
